The basics

This chapter gives an overview of the possibilities Etomite has to offer when it comes to user management and access permissions (and restrictions). The first part will describe the building blocks of the system. The second part will guide you through the actual tasks within the Etomite manager.

After some edits to permissions you need to logout of the manager and log back in, so after doing so, try logging out of the manager, logging back in as admin, then you should be able to edit the documents and set the group they belong to.

The structure

User

A unique entry containing the username, password, email and role etc of an Etomite user.

Role

Defines the permissions on that a user has.

User group

A collection of users who will need access to the same document groups

Document

The fundamental content element in Etomite.

Document group

As it sounds. A group of documents that for some reason are placed in the same group. It is the document group that user groups will be matched with.

Together, these elements define who can do what on which part (where) on our website. Which is the point in managing users and permissions.
